Exploring Edinburgh, Day 2, Part 1

We woke up on Saturday morning with some Scottish snow. It wasn't nearly as much as we had in Durham before we left, but it was still enough to be quaint and Christmassy.

First stop... Edinburgh Castle for the free admission day! Why, yes, Kristi, I did take this picture. Thank you! This was the view from the top. Immediately below was a cemetary for dogs. People love pet cemetaries in Scotland apparently.

Here's a view the opposite way. I don't know if you can tell by my watery eyes, but it was cold.
We didn't stay long at the castle. As I mentioned, it was free, which meant it was mega crowded. I "rather dislike" large crowds. Combined with the cold, I was getting a little grumpy, so Nathan took me back to the German Christmas market to try another treat. I was so excited...

until I saw this crowd. Gulp.

I've totally been to that castle! I loved when they set the cannons off. Did you drink any scotch? That stuff will burn the lining off your esophagus!
