Soon-to-be Reverend Nathan Performs His First Wedding

Nathan had the honor and privilege of delivering the wedding homily for some friends of ours, John and Sara. He did a wonderful job. In fact, he got comments from Japan saying, "Good job!" John and Sara had the ceremony webcasted to Japan, Mexico, and Portugal, where they grew up as missionary kids. It's a good thing he didn't know that beforehand!

Amy's Visit

We're so sad to say goodbye! This was taken at a stoplight near the airport. We had such a blast together. We did lots of coloring, watching Brian Regan DVDs, going to school, cleaning, etc. :) We tried the Coke museum, but it was closed. Boo!

Amy came to observe me teach school for two days. She started student teaching kindergarten today! How'd you do Amers?

She got a fancy shmancy new camera for her birthday, and she took this artsy picture of Nathan and me at Ted's Montana Grill, an Atlanta restaurant owned by Ted Turner (who owns the braves as well as a broadcasting network), where we ate bison burgers.

Isn't she gorgeous? Not me and my shiny forhead... AMY!

Here we are in my kitchen. I was dressed down in my cleaning duds, and we sang a lot of "Cinderella" songs from the Disney movie. :) She is a special friend with whom I can clean house with all day without feeling bad. In fact, in California, I'd never iron unless she came over. I think the few times I've ironed in Georgia were with Amy via phone date.

I'm Zonked

I think this is my 6th post today. I'm through for now, because I really have to get some work done. I'll post pictures of Amy's visit and Nathan performing his first wedding homily soon. Enjoy the superfluous amount of posts. Like I told you before... it's feast or famine with this thing!

Serendipitous Surprise

Don't you love when friends visit you at the airport? Allison came to the Phoenix airport and shared a cup of Starbucks with Nathan and I during our layover from Bakersfield to Atlanta. I had so much fun in just 20 minutes! Nathan had to drag me away to our next flight. In her honor, I am going to post a link to this hilarious diabetes rap video. She e-mailed it to me today, and it is so funny! It explains type I diabetes and all of the equipment that goes with it. :)

New Year's Eve

The Dean family (Mom Christy and Dad Carl with triplets Mia, Sophie, and Gracie), family friend Nancy, and Nathan and me.

Carl covered in baby girls!

The Otten family... they live behind my parents and have been friends of the family longer than they've been neighbors.

My Uncle Bob and Aunt Deanie came to visit early. She made us this beautiful quilt for our home. It's already on display in the living room!

Happy 30th Anniversary Mom and Dad!

We celebrated my mom and dad's 30th wedding anniversary on December 30th at Steamer's in Pismo Beach. It's a great seafood restaurant overlooking the ocean. My Uncle Bill and Aunt Linda joined us as well.

We're Engaged!

Nathan proposed to me on New Year's Eve in 2005. We were on a mountain overlooking Shell Beach, and we were entertained by the most beautiful sunset and lots of "God light." Sadly, by the time we hiked back down, it was dark and we didn't get any pictures of the event. One of my goals for our California Christmas vacation was to re-enact the proposal in the exact spot where it happened three years ago.

My idea was conceived very romantically, but my Dreamboat crashed into Reality Island when we arrived at the bottom of the mountain. Gales of wind were whipping all around us, and sand and dust were biting at our faces. On one side of the mountain was the ocean. The other side contained the freeway with cars honking at us. It was a harrowing, perilous journey up and down that steep mountainside, but Nathan and my dad (our photographer) made it happen for me anyway. Whew!
What we do for love... :)

Morro Bay

Yummy fish and chips right on the ocean. It doesn't get much better than that...
until you see all kinds of animated creatures hanging around!

It's called the "Mountain of Gold," but it's really just a rocky, beautiful coastline. :)

Another Delay

Allison, I deeply apologize. Yes, you also have a few pictures to look forward to of our awesome layover in PHX with Allison... and a wedding we went to this weekend. Nathan performed his first wedding homily, and he did a great job.

Please pray for us as we attend a funeral this morning for Nathan's best friend (and the best man in our wedding), Ryan, who died unexpectedly on Friday.

Love to you!
