Since Then

Nathan and I went out for our anniversary ("Three years is a long time to be married..." - Jerry Seinfeld) and to celebrate my teacher award the night my family left. I think Nathan thought it best to go out for a very nice dinner then because I was missing them so badly already! Anyway, when the table next to us got their dessert, he glanced over at it and then said to me, "Is that applesauce?"

"Uh, that's creme brelee, honey. We're at a fancy restaurant."

He started laughing right away, mostly out of embarrassment. "That's going on the blog, isn't it?" he said ruefully.

"Yes. Yes, it is."

This is my sweet husband yesterday morning before he preached at Christ Church. He was fully equipped with snacks and a Coke, just in case his sugar went low, even though I'm the one with diabetes. :) His wardrobe was brought to you by Jim, Ida, and Mary Lou. Thanks y'all! His sermon should be up soon on our church's website. It's called "Keeping the Heart" and was delivered on June 21st.

Today Nathan power washed our driveway and deck. I didn't realize that our drive way was such a light color! Before finishing the job, he "wrote" me a message and asked me to come see it. Of course, I had to take a picture.

What a kindhearted, hard-working husband I have!

Bye June

We already miss your sweet face!

Bye lovey... We'll see you at Christmastime!

I love this picture. Her face says, "Who's this guy?!" Uncle Nathan!

Happy Birthday Mumers

Homemade mint chip ice cream with nuts, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie. Can life get any better? I submit that it CANNOT!

Here's Mom enjoying her ice cream and Real Simple magazine.

Happy birthday Mumers! I hope you enjoy your day tomorrow. Thanks for celebrating early with me.

Uncle Nathan

The other day, Nathan said to me, "I'm really nervous about being an uncle. I wonder which uncle I'll be... the crazy uncle... the weird uncle... the funny uncle... the cool uncle..."

"Probably all of the above," I said.

Teddy and June

June made friends very easily in Atlanta. This is her friend Teddy, and Teddy's mom, Hannah.

Teddy looks like an old man with his sweatpants, short sleeved shirt, and tie. June looks like she's ready to play bingo and then go to the disco.

Augh! I could just eat 'em up.

They're holding hands! Aaaugh!

I think they're very happy together. :)

Lunch at the Swan Coach House

Here we are on our deck, nearly ready to go out to lunch at the Atlanta ladies' hangout, the Swan Coach House.

This is not a good picture of us... kinda dark... but the Swan House is behind us.

The atmosphere was quaint and Southern, but the food was terrible. Oh well... at least we got to experience it.

The four girls... June's head is barely visible in the back.

There she is!

Girlfriend needed a diaper change, so we went down to the bathroom.

All better!

Kitchen Photo Shoot

My sister really wanted to do a photo shoot with Nathan and me in the kitchen. After taking this picture, she said, "Who kisses with their eyes open. Both of you! Weird!"

I must have said something like, "Okay, let's be serious now." It didn't work.

Sampley/Parker/Onaindia Girls

Junie is cashed out...

Sisters

My mom, sister, and I all have matching dresses from Target. My sister's is brown, and mine is blue. :)

Because I Couldn't Pick Just One

Here's June in the car seat with the "Kiddopotomous." It's the white thing behind her that's holding her head in. I loved saying Kiddopotomous all week. :)

I love when she sticks her tongue out.

June Take A Bath

She takes a bath in the sink...

She dries off...

She gets lotioned up. It's hard being so pampered.

News, News, and News

News #1: Nathan is preaching two services on Father's Day, June 21st, at Christ Church. First service is at 9:15, and second service is at 11:00. He'd love to see your smiling face in the congregation if you're available to come. And me too... with him up front, I don't have anyone to sit with now.

News #2: Our Europe trip has been postponed until Spring Break 2010. The original date and time we were to leave was Father's Day, June 21st, right after second service. Yikes! However, we had minimal details planned, and throwing the rest of the trip together at the last minute seemed rushed and forced. We just didn't feel like it was the right time. Luckily, our buddy passes are good for a full year, so we have lots of time to plan with purpose.

News #3: My mom, sister, and niece are coming to visit in two more days! Lots and LOTS of pictures to come. We are going to make oodles of memories.

Congratulations Carter and Liz!

Two youth volunteers - and good friends - from church got married last Saturday. Congratulations to you both!

The whole event was so fun and beautiful, and the couple did an amazing job of planning their wedding to be a worshipful experience.

Nathan Graduates

Daaa, da, da, da, daaaa, dum...

He's having a hard time paying attention to the two-hour ceremony.

He passes by... this is my favorite picture.

We can't resist the self portrait. Good thing you can see ALL of my teeth and gums.

Paul Gardner, our senior pastor, graduated from RTS 30 years ago this year.

Pete Jackson, assistant pastor and love expert (he and his wife set us up), came as well.

Congratulations, my husband. I'm so proud of you!
