Exploring Edinburgh, Day 1, Part 5

This is the last post about Day 1, I promise.

As night began to fall at 3 p.m., we made our way to Greyfriar's Church, where there are several martyrs buried, as well as a very faithful sheepdog. The sheepdog's grave has a shrine, and people leave fetching sticks instead of flowers. I forgot to take a picture of that.

Self-explanatory

Nathan and I found this treasures shop, and we spent a bit of time in there exploring. I was petrified I'd knock something over and have to pay big money, but we escaped without incident.

Beautiful Edinburgh at night...

On our way back to the Kellys', we just had to indulge in a little Christmas market strudel and hot chocolate.

I just loved this German lady's glasses fogging up over the tasty treats. And I loved her hat. And her accent.

Ahh, the satisfying reward of reading a LA teacher's blog: the correct use of the apostrophe. (Bet you didn't think that's where I was headed with this comment. ha!)
