Out and About

So, it's August1st, and lest you think that I am blogging on my first day on the job, let me tell you that I have not started yet. Despite my persistence, the details have not fallen into place for me to begin my work at the school early like I had hoped.

The word for this summer seems to be "wait." I've been waiting for a lot in this season of life. However, I am encouraged by friends and by Nathan to fill my time with positive things like exercise, reading, and entertaining. When will I ever have a schedule so free and slow? When will I ever have days (weeks, really) of "What do I want to do today?" It's both stress-free (no I-have-tos) and stressful (lots of time to worry about money).

So to make you wait for more exciting posts (Nathan has been fighting his summer cold since Tuesday and we haven't done anything fun lately), here are some more pictures of flowers around town.

This is in the market square.

The hanging baskets are ridonculous.

St. Nicolas's Church

There are even baskets of flowers on bus shelters.

This is the River Wear, right by our house. That's a fly fisherman way over there.

So beautiful!

Leave a comment to be entered into the latest contest. The winner will be announced tomorrow!
