Budapeshhht

This guy played classical music on water glasses. It was all Nathan could do to not empty out his entire wallet in the money box in front.

We took a train from Bratislava to Budapest. It was cold in the morning!

Here we are in an ATM vestibule waiting for the boys to figure out who owed whom money. It was a bit confusing over five currencies: American dollars, Czech crowns, Slovakian Euros, Hungarian forint, and British pounds. I'm glad we're still friends.

Sight seeing in Budapest. Booyeah.

This is the worst picture of us in front of this church.

This is the best of that series of pictures on my camera, but my favorite of is is coming up in Dave's pictures.

From the top of the church

Yay for friends!

This makes me laugh.

Spiral staircase down, down, down

Our best lunch in Hungary was at this place. The three of them got goulash.

I got this "meat filled pancake" because I was feeling adventurous.

We got dessert too! Crepes with apricot jam inside covered with chocolate. It actually was not very good. Too bad...

More buildings I can't be bothered to name because I know Jeff Horner will find out for me

We went to Margaret's Island and rode a four person bike. It was a great way to explore...

...until we got rained on.

Great view

Our Giselle look alike tour guide

Our main tour guide said funny things like, "Rise up and socialize us!" when she really meant something like, "Stand up and mingle with one another!"

On the chain bridge near our apartment

View from the Buda side toward the Pest side

Yay again for friends!

Another church

Budapest at night

I loved this outfit of Allison's - and her Chakos.

Allison and Nathan being extroverts.

Me and Dave being introverts.

That pretty building that you couldn't name (with the red) is the Parliament Building. I'm feeling so proud of myself right now! It's actually my favorite building, so it's not quite that impressive that I know the name. :)

awesome pics Nicole. You are on quite an adventure. Did you go to the Gelliart (sp?) hotel where your mom and I got our best massages ever???

I love me some Budapest! On one of our trips, we stayed inside the castle area. Yes, Parliament overlooking the Danube (which is not blue at all). If "Mission Impossible I" (Tom Cruise)and "Amadeus" are Prague movies, then "I Spy" (Eddie Murphy) is the Budapest movie. Good footage in each.

(Disclaimer: CLQ mentioning these movies as a comment to Nicole's blog does in no way constitute her endorsement-- in part or in whole-- of said movies. Further, should someone actually be motivated to see one of them because of this comment they do so claiming sole agency. This clause is intended to cover any offense the viewer might take especially at, but not limited to, Eddie Murphy. Any laughter, insight, enrichment, challenge or enjoyment of the Prague/Budapest scenery which emanates from the above movies is, however, wholly attributable to CLQ's recommendation.)

Yay for Bratislava! We spent the summer there in '04. (Took a night train/day trip to Budapest, but it was so fast I hardly remember it.) Love all your fun pictures of a great adventure! :)
