We spent about 18 hours in Slovakia, so we made the best of it by exploring Bratislava, the capital city, even in the rain. Hey-o!
This is the front of the presidential palace.
Nice flowers
Nice church
There was hardly anyone on the street, but church was poppin'!
Nice building
Castle-ish looking complex on top of a hill
View from the said hill. Not sure why there's a thumb in this picture.
Rain falling
Nice "old town" section of town
Guy with nice 'stache statue
Nathan thought this was really cool, but I'm not sure why. The many arches? The lime green minivan? Not sure...
I'd recommend Bratislava for a stopover between Prague and Budapest, but stick to to the "old town" section, and watch your umbrellas. Nathan's got stolen when we stopped for gelato. It was broken anyway, so the joke's on the brolly thief!
I just realized that the only "people picture" in this post was of me hiding my pump behind my back, and my captions were particularly uninteresting with the word "nice" appearing no less than five times. Sorry. I can't blame my blahs on the weather (it's 75 and sunny today!), so I'll blame my lingering cold. I'm on the up and up, though. I'd say I'm 75% better. :)
Stay tuned for Dave's fancy photos. They're really amazing.
