Not taking the quiz...you name your house? But I'd love to see the answers when you're done!
I added some extra tidbit of information hoping you'll accept extra credit points to make up for the wrong/insufficient answers.
1. June Bug and Winnie Paige (let me just say you did not say FORMAL names). I absolutely LOVE those names!
2. Escape harm (???) I remember you talking about it but can't remember the definition... just that I was amused.
3. Who other than the one and only Kristi Knipp? Hard to forget her.
4. North Barn in which the White Lady lives next door. Has she been good to you?
5. At the golf course club house reading Leviticus and watching Cricket with the Geordies.
6. English as a Second Language
7. Whistling Duet
8. Rocky Bullwinkle (if that's not it, I think I deserve credit for creativity). If you don't know who this is, ask your Mummers.
9. Why Allison, of course! Who else would be willing to do that? Nathan ended up injecting you.
10. ZZZZZ, Historical Theology, ZZZZZ. Actually, I like History and I do like Theology so I might be interested in some things he's learning.
PS, a good teacher leaves smiley faces and notes of encouragement on her student quizzes. Right? (Nodding my head, eyebrows raised with the appropriate "right" sign.)
So far we have six entries to the quiz, and some of your answers have made me burst out laughing! Keep 'em coming... Winner announced Friday.
Wait! Answer to #2!!!! I think I remember now! It's a stapler! Pinch the guillotine is a stapler! Right? I think you were talking about working in an office (temp) and someone in the office called it that. If that's not it, I still think this deserves points for creativity.
I agree with Jen and Dane, I want to see other peoples answers too.
PS, I'm embarrassed now because I keep posting... but got to say that IF I'm the winner, you can avoid shipping cost by sending it home with your Mummers. I will see her the 2nd or 3rd week of June providing she agrees to set up a lunch date with me.
:-)
From Miss JEG:
Not sure what the hiz is up with your ole blog...But I got an error message when I tried to post this as a comment. So, I am emailing. I feel blogger errors should not restrict me from winning. Please advise if I need to persist in my efforts to comment this.
1. What are the first and middle names of my two nieces? June Catherine and Winnie Paige
2. What does "pinch the guillotine" mean? OK, I have searched your blog, with no luck. I am pretty sure this means "borrow the paper-cutter" or maybe just "use the paper-cutter". This is why I wanted to find the answer. To be sure. There is no sense in having a wrong answer on an open-book test, I say. And you didn't say we couldn't search your blog archives.
3. Who gave me the now-famous chocolate chip cookie recipe? Kristi. Must try that recipe soon.
4. What is our house's name? The North Barn! So did not have to look that one up.
5. Where did I spend the most boring day of my life? Langley Moor. In a club house, on a golf course. To be clear, if the golf course was not in Langley Moor, you did not specify that in your blog. Also, special thank you for titling the post "The Most Boring Day of My Life".
6. Which subject/s have I taught (more than one answer possible)? Spanish, Language Arts, Religion (Do I lose points for guessing more, but those guesses being wrong? If so, I redact Spanish and Religion as answers. Do I need to be grade-specific? If so, I clarify LA to 7th grade. No, 6th grade. 7th. Maybe both.) I did not look this up. I feel (nearly) that confident about my answer(s).
7. What talent did Nathan and I show off at our church's talent show this year? Whistling. This Is My Father's World. I only had to look up to confirm which song you whistled. Booya. Also, Nutcracker. And Olympics. Yep, still listening to the video as I type this. You gots mad skills, yo.
8. What is the name of the ten-point buck on our wall in Atlanta? Let me tell you. First I looked through Georgia, then I tried Nathan. I locate the deer head post and what does it say? "We're taking suggestions for what to name this guy." ARG. Then, I had to search through Parties, because you said you'd vote at the fall party. And guess what, my friend? No such party post. After searching a few other categories, including, but not limited to, "Funny Stories" and "Scary Creatures", I am convinced this name was not revealed on the blog. The only name I saw was John Deer(e)/Dear John. And that is my final answer. Damn. At least I should get a 90%. Maybe 80%.
9. Who photo-documented my first insulin injection? Allison. Thank you, popular posts on the sidebar.
10. What is Nathan studying at Durham (more than one answer possible)? Historical Theology. He's studying some guy, I know that. The name of that guy....I cannot think of. I'm going to be honest. I don't have the energy right now to look it up. I already stayed up late finishing this darn thing. Lovely idea, btw.
Oh, how I love a good healthy competition.
boo! i didn't realize this competition was ending so soon! do i get a prize from london for being the answer to #9? :)
and who is kristin hamilton? i LOVE her for answer to #9.
and i love that abby rice used my maiden name in #9 (so i just used hers there). :)
Thanks to Kristen Sampley, Abby Rice, Robin Hogan, Kristen Cloud, Kristi Latimer, and Allison Hoekstra for making me smile thinking about maiden names.
Allison, I have never met you. I just answered that way to "impress" the teacher. (I also have never met Kristi.) I felt for you because I particularly do NOT like needles and could not even be in the same room with her injecting herself (or Nathan doing it). However, since becoming a Mom, I have been forced to fake that injections are no big deal and have had to help "revive" one daughter TWICE after she passed out upon having blood drawn from her. Frankly, I do not want to be in the room nor do I even want to know someone is going to be intimately acquainted with needles that day.
I agree with JEG, I love a good healthy competition too. It was very fun and even though I did not win, I still enjoyed playing. I loved everyones answer to #2 particularly. Hysterical.
