Band of Brothers

I can't believe I haven't blogged about this yet! Nathan and I borrowed Band of Brothers (not to be confused with this band of brothers) from Sam and Emily, our first English friends, and have stayed up way too late watching it in bed on our computer. What an amazing miniseries. I can't stop thinking about it. I know it's several years old, but I was seriously moved by the courage and sacrifice I saw.

Have you seen it? What did you think? If you haven't seen it already, I highly recommend it.

Has anyone seen The Pacific? Like Band of Brothers, it's produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, but it is set in the Pacific theater. Is it as good as Band of Brothers? Is it out on DVD yet?

Yes! We've watched The Pacific, and it's definitely out on DVD. I would say it was just as good as Band of Brothers. The Pacific front was something that I did not know much about, so it was especially interesting. Seemed like it was a little more bloody than Band of Brothers, but it has been a very long time since I've watched that one so I just might not be remembering correctly. I would definitely recommend it though!

Mark got The Pacific for his birthday (so yes, it's out on DVD), and we've watched several episodes. It's really well-done and seems very realistic (i.e. really intense at times). I'd recommend! I've wanted to see Band of Brothers, too.

Band of Brothers is FANTASTIC! I have probably watched the series 4 times, it is so well done. I got The Pacific last year for Christmas. As Hillary said, it was a part of the war that I didn't know much about, so I felt like I learned a lot. I would say though that if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Brothers. I love how it follows the story of one company through the war. The Pacific follows three different people and seemed a little disjointed to me. Just my opinion, but they are both great series!

I haven't seen Band of Brothers, but I have taken the Band of Brothers tour at the Normandy beaches. AMAZING. The guide basically took us along the route of Easy Company (what BOB is based on). That's something you and Nathan should do while you're across the pond. The whole Normandy experience was incredible.
