This picture was taken by Nathan at least a week ago... maybe two. Yesterday I had a little exchange with a neighbor I don't know well at all (I know her face but not her name) that is typical of the comments I get in public.
Her: "Wow. You're bigger than last time."
Me: "Yeah... nowhere to go but out."
Her: "When are you due?"
Me: "I have six more weeks."
Her: "SIX?! But you're already huge!!!"
Me: "Yeah..."
*Awkward silence*
Her: "You're SURE there's just one in there?"
Me: "Just the one..."
Aaaand scene.
I also get irritated by people who tell me to sleep now (I have been struggling with insomnia for months already!). I know people are curious and showing interest and trying to be nice. If I didn't have diabetes and a higher than average amount of amniotic fluid to worry about, I probably wouldn't be bothered by the "huge" comments, and if I wasn't so dang tired I wouldn't be bothered by the "sleep" comments. But... I do get bothered after a few conversations like that per day, although meeting our son on the other end of this process is worth it. I don't want to complain, but some people just don't realize their comments are insensitive. Or maybe they don't realize that I'm overly sensitive. :)
An older gentleman at Target the other day engaged me in the usual baby conversation and said, "Don't worry. Your husband will be there every second. Just stay calm. STAY CALM. JUST STAY CALM!!!" It was actually really funny how uptight he was when he was telling me to stay calm. I'll have to remember that one while I'm in labor.
People, here is a bank of words you should feel comfortable using with pregnant women: cute, glowing, radiant, adorable, petite, motherly, amazing, beautiful. Don't stray far from these, and you'll be just fine.

I think you look awesome! Can't wait to see pictures of your little guy in a few weeks :)
I completely understand! I had a high level of amniotic fluid with Wilson, and people made comments all of the time. It was very annoying. I think you look amazing! I hope you feel as good as you look!
Lol! You are adorable! My first was 9lbs 14oz, so I would get comments all the time. Once she came out, I decided technically she weighed the same as many sets of twins, so I should have just answered yes on the twin question. You may not be able to get any rest (I remember the insomnia), but at least I hope you are getting pampered! :)
You are beautiful and look amazing!! Your doing a great job momma keeping that baby cozy and loved. I think the lord gives us tummies to that we can hug our babies before they make there arrival. Enjoy it!!! It is such a God send!! So happy for you both!!
I looked up "top 10 things not to say to a pregnant woman" and found that I had already heard ALL of the comments by the beginning of my second trimester. I'm sure I've said some dumb things to pregnant woman before I knew better so thanks for spreading the word and being honest :) People also need to remember that every comment to a pregnant woman does NOT need to be about her body. So happy for you guys and your upcoming bundle of joy.
I love that Mikey belly!!! ...and you of course! You make one beautiful little preggo lady!
